Next quilt

We had a wonderful time in WI celebrating Mom in law's 80Th. We found this inspiration for a winter quilt for our bed. Yes! WE...My hubby is so fantastic! He loved the colors in the Pampas grass at his cousins pond, So much so that we will be planting some at our pond. We are also going to put in a few Maples for the beautiful fall color.

I met an Amish woman who was explaining to me the importance of quilts in their culture. She felt so honored to be able to sleep under a quilt that was made by her mother in laws' Mother in Law. My conversation with her spurred me on to make a quilt that would be meaningful to my hubby and I.

This is the fabric that Mom in law and I started picking and Hubby finished for our quilt. It will be a celebration of our time in WI and of our relationship. I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful man that really understands me!

Ripples on the pond from the kids casting and catching the Perch and Blue gills. Another quilt???

  1. Love how the green remains amoung the greys in the first picture, and your choice of batiks looks like a great combo to work with. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

  2. Isn't it wonderful to be able to share your love of color and fabric with your man? I really enjoy collaborating with Frank. Love the colors, what's the layout look like?
