Valentine

Yesterday I played with a new (to me) technique, painting cotton quilt batting. I used Lumiere paints so there is a subtle sparkle. After the paint dried I fused it to heavy interfacing and fused batik scraps on the backs. The flowers are my hand dyed organza with Aunties shank buttons for centers.

When we were south Aunt Shirley gave me her little box of buttons she has been collecting for the last 40 years. I love them! Even though I made these with two special girls in mind...I really do not want to give up the buttons! I suppose it would be rude to tell the girls I want them back...when you are ready to pitch the creation! AHHH! They are only stuff....it is better to give than to hoard!!!

Three creative studios sponsors the TOM (Technique of the month) and several other creative challenges and tutorials.
