Dallas

We enjoyed the Chihuly night exhibit at the Dallas Arboretum. Dale Chihuly and his team produce awe inspiring pieces made of glass, many are over 20 feet tall.

With temperatures in the 60's and 70's we are enjoying the Texas climate.

St. Louis

Once again we fell in love with a town...as we drove away we were fantasizing about renting a place for a few months, hanging out and enjoying the friendly feel of the neighborhood(s). Our B&B was opulent with turn of the century decor and all the modern conveniences. There was a large park across the street and a view of the arch out our window. Loved dancing with my hubby at a really small blues club, live music! We met a woman who had visited Wrangell this summer and really loved our little town...small world.

We are in Dallas now, the temperature is 70 at 9am, it is a bit overcast and humid. The breeze is moving the clouds rapidly, reminding me of mornings in Mexico when the offshore clouds would roll over and the rest of the day the sky would be clear. The air smells of water not city...amazing!

Hunting

I went for an evening hunt with Hubby and our dog. I was shooting with the camera...Sandhills overhead as the sun sets and an owl that was curious enough to sit and look at me.

Snow

Winter is fast approaching in Wisconsin. The trees have shed their leaves giving the forest a lifeless look.
We spent a weekend at sisters cabin in the middle of Amish farm country...quiet. Then to sisters house in the "cities"...not so quiet. We drove home yesterday to find snow. The house in the photo is our temporary home, Thank you mom! Soon she will be married and we will be on our way again.

 

 

 

 

 

Troy, NY

We have been here a couple weeks splitting our time between the city and a cabin in the Adirondack mountains. Last weekend was the worlds largest garage sale, the girls shopped and the guys fished until darkness sent them home. The foliage colors are amazing this time of year. In one week the leaves have dropped off of half of the trees, winter is approaching quickly.

for those less fortunate stuck on an island in the northern sea...But in the urban crawl we came across a the Illium cafe that served this fillet steak salad with cherry reduction sauce and warm blue cheese dressing. In the background is a seared ahi (tuna) salad.

Niagra

We could not see the falls because the mist was so thick. The smaller American falls were visible. Upper New York is a beautiful agricultural landscape.

St Ignace

We are overnighting in St. Ignace, MI because the wind is gusting over 50 MPH so the Mackinac (Mackinaw) bridge is closed. As you cross the bridge lake Michigan is on one side and lake Huron is on the other. It will be more interesting to cross in the daylight.
A couple small bucks we had to brake for, wind gusts pushing the waters of lake Michigan ashore at the light house and the trees turning in northern Wisconsin.

Headed for Ontario

The green lake in BC, 1.5hrs to put the car topper together and a sincere goodbye to Saskatchewan.

Church

This chapel is part of the Noralee campground and cabins in BC. The sun is setting behind the church and shinning through the windows.
Blogger mobile is harder to use so only one picture.

Back roads

We have been traveling the logging roads, they are well maintained, so we can take advantage of the trout fishing. There are hundreds of little lakes in this area of BC. It is unfortunate that there is a high fire ban now...catch and release is not so bad. Hubby is as happy as a kid on the first day of summer!

We seldom see another car it is like we have the whole country to ourselves.
